Ian and I have a strange little ritual. Every time we travel and stay in a hotel or a guesthouse, we take a few photos of ourselves lying on the bed. Fully clothed and on top of the sheets, normally with our hands or legs up in the air or pulling some funny pose. I'm not sure when this started. I'm not sure why we do it. Nonetheless, whenever we're end up on our travels, the first thing we do after checking in is stop for a photo.

What a crazy, clever idea. I especially loved the stuffed animal that changed it up a bit.

Thanks. Unfortunately Ian couldn't come to India with me, so had to get little Geoffrey to pose instead :)

What a fun idea, Catherine! That would be great to keep up with it then put a book out! When I was married we started a journal with our best room service meals in each hotel we stayed in. It was actually turning out really good! We split up and she took the journal. I will have to start another one! :)

Yes, definitely start a new one! Just looking at the one photo can bring back all sorts of memories of the trip, it's a great memento :)

Cute tradition! And weirdly, I actually wish I had more pictures of some previous hotels we've stayed in - mainly because a lot of them have been ridiculously shabby, and it would be fun to look at the old photos and laugh at some of the places we actually slept in.

I was not expecting that cute little giraffe in India. I've been trying to get photos of hotel beds before my kids messed them up. Maybe I need to rethink that and let them do some creative posing.

LOL, love it! Seriously guys, there is nothing better than jumping on your hostel/hotel bed when you are knackered! Best feeling ever!

How fun! This is a great idea. It reminds of of the time my husband and spent backpacking in Europe. Looks like you guys are having a great time. :)

ReplyDeleteHaha, thanks :)
DeleteWhat a great tradition! I hope you keep it up. I try, whenever possible, to get a picture of me eating an ice cream cone wherever I travel. :)
ReplyDeleteThat's a lovely idea, and a good excuse to always be eating ice cream!
